Storytelling

After some years being the bright new star on the sky of trends, storytelling has now found its own position. The utilization of story telling is spread out on the daily work in the organisations, ie. external as well as internal communication, development of employees and organisation.

Motivation, inspiration and commitment
Stories can be applied to motivate, commit and inspire the employees. When changes and restructuring is introduced repeatedly, employees at all levels can have a hard time comprehending and connecting to the big guide lines, the vision and strategy. Story telling can aid that process immensely.

Stories bind everyday work life to the goals, values and vision of the organisation - being able to tell a story is a central part in the role of a manager. The story about what the company – the division – the team aspires for and wants to execute.

Telling stories is a unique communication form that hits both the feeling and intellect, thereby creating intimacy and commitment. If you can tell a story regarding the vision, it will surely be remembered a long time after PowerPoint slides and facts are forgotten!
