Open Space generates development in groups and gives all participants the opportunity to involve themselves actively in the work of solving complex challenges that has an unknown solution. Open Space is ideal for invention of ideas how you utilise and develop the competences of the company.
An open room with no unnecessary structure
Open Space is an open room, the method is characterised by being very lean and is applicable in groups of 25 till several hundreds. Open Space reaches its peak when we are dealing with a specific and well described problem with an unknown solution.
Well suited challenges in relation to competency mapping and development may be; we are to enter a merger with another division, how do we manage? Our work does not exist in 3 years, what can we develop instead? The technology means that our subject area changes radically, how can we handle it? The new structure of the organisation reduces the number of manager positions, how do we tackle that?
Time and resources depends on demand
Time depends on how many laps you need. One lap including introduction and closure can be effectuated in 2 hours. An Open Space generally has no structure and requires discipline and honesty of the participants, but in return the outcome is significant.
